Building Ajax Solutions With Usability And Accessibility

alt="Building Ajax Solutions With Usability And Accessibility" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/default-image-500x308_c.jpg" />

Guest post written by James Mowery

src="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.com/images/2010/0922-1.jpg" class="right" alt="Ajax Solutions" />

With the explosion of web usage over the past decade, the online applications that users have access to have become more sophisticated as each year passes. While ‘internet time’ is even faster than the proverbial ‘dog years’, one recent development has radically altered online applications and will continue to do so for some time.

Dubbed ‘ajax’, this technology allows for a web application to make asynchronous method calls to perform certain tasks without refreshing the user’s browser. To the user, it may appear that the page changes as they use it, or there may be progress indicators such as ‘loading’ graphics or something similar.

While the technology that allows this to occur isn’t actually new, the availability and ubiquity of broadband internet access, along with wider browser support for advanced Javascript programming, has made it extremely common. Here are some specific points that anyone looking into creating ajax-enabled applications to make sure they aren’t just introducing something that happens to be the latest fad.

First, consider how many times your users may have to do something in the application, for example, clicking a button, which normally may cause the entire page to reload. By working to limit those types of actions to ajax methods, the user’s navigation experience will seem faster, as they don’t have to wait for the page to refresh.

Sure, there is still some time for the page to update, but showing the user a progress bar or some other similar indicator makes the time seem quicker. It should also be noted that ajax methods that update small parts of the web page should not just seem faster, however.
Since less data is being passed back and forth across the wire to the user’s browser, it will actually increase the application’s speed.

Consider, however, being careful that trying to do everything in the application within a single screen may not be the best way to go, either. Some screens simply need a different layout in order to make sense to the user. By carefully deciding which navigation elements should be moved to ajax and which should not, you will improves the accessibility and usability of the entire application.

Back then, web hosting was a lot less common to many and there were very little individual business owners who are looking for a hosting solution. In 2001, many of the services TurnKey Internet provided to the large Internet Service Providers became practical solutions for many emerging Internet businesses. TurnKey Internet has since focused heavily on the small- and medium-sized business client that needs reliability, speed, and cost-effective web hosting solutions for their online business.

Today, with four data centers and a fully redundant next generation fiber optic network, TurnKey Internet provides high speed, regional-focused, 100% Network Uptime Guarantee web hosting services. The company services range from href="http://www.turnkeyinternet.net/webhosting/turnkey_dedicated_server.php" target="_blank">Dedicated Server, href="http://www.turnkeyinternet.net/webhosting/turnkey_virtual_private_server.php" target="_blank">Virtual Private Server, href="http://www.turnkeycolocation.com" target="_blank">Colocation, as well as href="http://www.turnkeyinternet.net/software-as-a-service.php" target="_blank">Software as a Service (SaaS) products.

The company is href="http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business-reviews/internet-web-hosting/turnkey-internet-inc-in-albany-ny-183724510/?ID=183724510">rated A in BBB Business Review (since Sept 17, 2007) and I read quite some good review on the company when I was doing my research. Network Solutions Review

alt="Network Solutions Review" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/networksolutions-500x314_tl.jpg" />

style="line-height: 1.5em;">Established in 1979, Network Solutions was one of the first companies to launch in the DNS registry business. Though it started out as a technology consulting company focused primarily on systems programming services, the company quickly grew and expanded into other areas, IPO-ing in 1997. Over the years, this Washington, D.C. metro area organization has withstood numerous acquisitions, including the most recent href="http://ir.web.com/releasedetail.cfm?releaseid=618725" target="_blank">acquisition in 2011 by Web.com, a takeover that cost 5 million and 18 million shares.

Network Solution’s Service at a Glance

Though Network Solutions is most known for its domain registration services, the organization also provides a myriad of web solutions, including email solutions, website development, online marketing services, and hosting services.

Domain Name Registration

The full-scale domain hosting services provide more than 50 different extension options, including the standard .com, .net, and .biz extensions, as well as state and country-specific origin extensions, among others. The scalable price chart offers domain registrations for as little as a one-year term with options through a 100-year registration – price breaks are given for lengthier registration terms. Some extensions, such as .biz, .com, and .info come free with a one-year registration with the annual package, though of course other fees and charges are associated.

Email Solutions

Network Solution’s email solutions are truly scalable to meet the needs of everyone from the sole proprietor to the corporate enterprise and everyone in between. The most basic level, nsMail™, includes 1GB of space per account, spam and virus protection, access through an internet connection, and compatibility with Outlook for pricing at just .75 per month. The mid-tier option, nsMail™ Pro, provides 2 GB space with shared calendars; tasks; and contacts, shared document management, and hassle-free management with Network Solutions’ managed servers for as little as .99 per mailbox per month. The top-tier plan, the Microsoft® Hosted Exchange, starts at .99 per month per mailbox and supports a complete Office Outlook® experience, ActiveSync® and BlackBerry® mobility, and built-in business continuity and disaster recovery.

Web Development

In the website development arena, Network Solutions offers two options to create and launch a website in just moments. The Small plan (.95 per month) includes one free custom domain, 5 GB of storage space, and 10 email boxes. Alternately, the Large plan (.95/month) includes one free domain, 300 GB of storage, and more than 50 email boxes. Both include a free website builder with professional templates to make building and launching a custom website easy.

Web Marketing

Network Solutions’ marketing services, dubbed nsMarketing™, include a variety of services, including SEO, pay per click advertising, a press release writing service, email marketing, Facebook presence support, and more.

Web Hosting

But, as ever, my main interest lies in the provider’s hosting capabilities. Upon landing on Network Solutions’ webpage, I am immediately greeted by a clean interface with easy to understand pricing with easy to read solutions comparisons. I see three hosting options: Web hosting, a web hosting and marketing package, and a web hosting, marketing, and store package. Not as noticeable are the “advanced hosting” and “VPS hosting” options which are, of course, what we’re really interested in.

Advanced Hosting

style="text-align: center;">class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9338 border" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/networksolutions1.jpg" alt="networksolutions" width="750" height="371" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/networksolutions1.jpg 750w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/networksolutions1-300x148.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" />

The “advanced hosting” is available in three different levels: Essential, Professional, or Premium.

Essential hosting starts at just .99 per month and includes 300 GB of disk space with unlimited data transfers. It includes 25 FTP accounts, 1,000 email boxes with 1 GB storage and three aliases per box, and statistics software.

Professional pricing starts at .99 per month and includes 500 GB of disk space with unlimited data transfers. It also provides 50 FTP accounts and 2,500 email boxes with 1 GB storage and three aliases per box – plus the statistics software.

Premium starts at .99 per month and includes unlimited disk space, unlimited data transfers, unlimited email boxes (same parameters as the other service levels), and unlimited FTP accounts.

All service levels include a free domain and 100 domain pointers.

As far as what the actual service provides, Network Solutions boasts a 99.9% Unix® uptime with automatic backups. It also provides a 24/7 phone and email support service, easy FTP access, the website builder tool, programming language support, one-click WordPress installation, and the ability to use your own domain name.

Virtual Private Server Hosting

class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9339" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/ns-vps-hosting.jpg" alt="ns vps hosting" width="750" height="638" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/ns-vps-hosting.jpg 750w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/ns-vps-hosting-300x255.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" />

The VPS hosting starts at per month for the Essential package or per month for Professional and guarantees full root-level control in addition to supporting most any application, 512 MB guaranteed RAM, 24/7 real person support, 10 GB or 50 GB disk space, and 500 GB or 20,000 GB transfers.

 Network Solutions: The Good

Room to grow; instant account activation

In my opinion, Network Solutions seems to offer many of the features that organizations need to solidly host their websites.

The instant set-up tools are key for users who want to have a hosting account immediately without needing to wait for verifications, validations, and other pre-set-up requirements. I like the easy scalability from basic hosting to advanced or VPS hosting within the same provider.

class="meteor-icon" style="font-size:130% !important;">
class="icon-remove-circle" style="color:inherit !important;">
 Network Solutions: The Not-So-Good

However, Network Solutions is hardly a budget hosting provider – that low introductory cost per month for the basic hosting is only for the first month – after that, the annual rate starts at 9.50 (.95 per month).

Terrible Server Management and Customer Service

Additionally, there are some key service concerns, starting with the terrible server management – there is a known issue with lack of backups and server upgrades. Beyond that, Network Solutions is known for overselling the host – though they certainly are not the only ones to do it. The organization unfortunately has a very bad reputation for customer service – search the web and you will find customers consistently complaining about slow response times and ineffective support staff.

id="attachment_9330" style="width: 760px" class="wp-caption aligncenter">class="size-full wp-image-9330 border" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/network-solutions-user-reviews.jpg" alt="Recent feedbacks on Network Solutions hosting services - seems that things are not working quite right behind the scene (Source)." width="750" height="351" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/network-solutions-user-reviews.jpg 750w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/network-solutions-user-reviews-300x140.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" />class="wp-caption-text">Recent feedbacks on Network Solutions hosting services – seems that things are not working quite right behind the scene (href="http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/networksolutions.com.html">Source).

Web 2.0 takeover

style="line-height: 1.5em;">Notably, during the Web.com takeover in 2011, Web.com laid off more than half of Network Solutions’ original staff, which explains why the complaint rats have steadily risen over the past several years.

It’s unfortunate, because there are some redeeming factors to Network Solutions’ hosting and other services – however, in this case, the negatives outweigh the positives. The most important thing to successfully running your website is to successfully keep it up and running reliably, consistently, and quickly – and, unfortunately, I just don’t feel confident that Network Solutions can deliver on those requirements.

Too much overselling

Though it does boast 99.9% uptime, the customer service issues and overselling the host are huge issues that the company needs to address. What happens in that .01 percent of downtime if you have questions? Or if the website creation tool isn’t working right and you can’t get your site up at all – who will help you? You need to work with a hosting provider who is able to provide the same great customer service and response times that your clients expect of you.

class="meteor-icon" style="font-size:130% !important;">
class="icon-remove-circle" style="color:inherit !important;">
 Network Solutions: The Ugly

Absurd cancellation policy

There’s one very, very serious issue with Network Solutions. If you read the company’s term of service, you’ll come to this at term #3:

Network Solutions will charge you a processing fee if you terminate or cancel any package prior to the completion of any limited money-back guarantee time period for that package or service (the “Processing Fee”). A Processing Fee of .99 will be charged for the cancellation of any one-year annual hosting, ecommerce, or Website design package. The Processing Fees for cancellation of multi-year packages will be: .99 per year for two-year packages, .99 per year for three-year packages, .99 per year for five-year packages and .99 per year for ten-year packages.

Note that Network Solutions cancellation fees is calculated on per year basis. If I understand this correctly, you could end up losing more than to cancel a two year account (that cost .76 in total). Isn’t this absurd?

class="meteor-icon" style="font-size:130% !important;">
class="icon-comment" style="color:inherit !important;">
User Feedback

The following is from WHSR visitor Barry Tuber. Barry has a client whose site is hosted on Network Solutions, under IP 209.17.116.160 and the following is his email (unedited) sent to us on March 17, 2015.

Network Solutions broke my client’s site, and won’t/can’t fix it.

id="attachment_12784" style="width: 410px" class="wp-caption alignright">class="size-full wp-image-12784" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/networksolutions-complaint.jpg" alt="Screen shot of the ticket in NS support area (sent by Barry)." width="400" height="443" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/networksolutions-complaint.jpg 400w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/networksolutions-complaint-271x300.jpg 271w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" />class="wp-caption-text">Screen shot of the ticket in NS support area (sent by Barry).

My client, who is a non-profit, had an old Front Page based site on a Windows shared host at Network Solutions, that for some reason they paid for the hosting fees 10 years in advance.

We built them a new WordPress based site, and when I asked Network Solutions if that could run ok on their Windows host, they said “sure”, then “maybe not”, then “try it and see”, then “well, you’d better switch to a Unix host”, then “we’ll let you out of the current hosting plan”, then “we won’t let you out of the current hosting plan, but we’ll let you switch the 10 year credit to a Unix plan”.

So the client agreed to get the Unix hosting, we copied the old site over, and we asked Network Solutions to flip thing over to Unix. They said they would do that last Wednesday, and they changed something which left the site totally unavailable (with an ugly 403 error page). First they said it would take 24-48 hours for the domain to resolve, then they said something was broken with the hosting setup and they would get back to us in 24-48 hours. It is now 6 days later and the site is still broken.

The last client before this one who hosted at Network Solutions had a shared server go down with a disk error. The site was down for a couple of days, and when it came back Network Solutions could only restore it from an old backup, so the client lost more than a day of paid transactions that they either had to reconstruct from credit card activity, and copies of emails, or in some cases completely lost.

I do not and would never recommend that any client host their web site at Network Solutions.

Bottom line: Do I Recommend Network Solutions Hosting?

The answer is NO – a big no. Terrible customer service, unreliable hosting servers, absurd cancellation policy – trust me, you don’t want any part of that in your life.

That said, I recommend href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/hosting-review/ipage/" target="_blank">iPage if you are looking for budget hosting. If you are interested in premium hosting options, check out href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/hosting-review/a2-hosting/" target="_blank">A2 Hosting  and href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/hosting-review/inmotion-hosting/" target="_blank">InMotion Hosting – both are great options.

How to Build A Better Blog: 4 Major Problems and Solutions

alt="How to Build A Better Blog: 4 Major Problems and Solutions" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/blog-concepts-500x333_c.jpg" />

You’ve built your blog, href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/blogging-tips/graphics-is-not-my-thing-part-1-take-better-photos/">learned how to make great photos, are active on social media, and create great content. Unfortunately, your blog doesn’t seem to be making it to the next level. It’s time to take stock of your blog and make changes that will drive traffic and grab subscribers.

Is Your Blog Really Doing Badly?

There are well over 200 million blogs out there, and the average monthly viewership for new blogs is quite low – less than 20.

If your Google Analytics shows 1,000 page views a month and have social media followers, you’re actually doing well and can begin to attract advertisers, work with brands and write sponsored posts. As I approached over 3,000 visitors and 5000 page views for my blog, my opportunities increased, so don’t sell yourself short if your numbers are below 5 digit expectations.

Set Your Goals First and a Then a Way to Measure

Firstly, make sure you set realistic goals. If you only have a dozen visitors to your website, you’re not going to 10,000 overnight, however you can create a plan to href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/blogging-tips/9-strategies-to-get-your-first-1000-page-views/">get your first 1000 page views. If you are ramping up a new tool, such as Instagram, set the bar low and remember to connect with people you know first. You’ll also need tools for measuring statistics.

class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-9642" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/blog-concepts.jpg" alt="Improving your blog" width="750" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/blog-concepts.jpg 700w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/blog-concepts-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" />

Must-Have Measurement Tools:

  • Install href="http://www.google.com/analytics/">Google Analytics to explore your monthly reach.
  • href="http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/">Open Site Explorer, where you can get Domain and Page Authority, plus lots of other great rankings.
  • Register at href="http://www.alexa.com/">Alexa Rankings to find your Global and US rankings.
id="attachment_9645" style="width: 710px" class="wp-caption aligncenter">class="border wp-image-9645 size-full" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/OpenSite.jpg" alt="Open Site" width="700" height="507" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/OpenSite.jpg 700w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/OpenSite-300x217.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" />class="wp-caption-text">For domain authority and more, check out Open Site.

For social media, you can use the native tools such as Facebook insights for free or you can use the following:

  • href="https://hootsuite.com/">HootSuite: If you are using this tool for publishing, you can see reports for all your social media, but you will need to update to pro version for more than just the basic few.
  • href="https://sumall.com/">SumAll: Free or premium. Tracks all your online programs. Takes a while to integrate all your systems.
  • href="http://www.socialreport.com/">Social Report: Starts at / month.

Let’s review some specific problems and see how you can fix them.

Problem #1: I Hate My Design

Is the design a problem or are you just bored of it? Are high value areas not getting any attention? Is it easy to comment? Can you visitors what they need? Does it represent your brand?

Solution: Check Your Site

It’s a good idea is to have someone who is your target audience review your site for specific concerns. Friends with design and graphic skills can be a great help if available, but please don’t ask them to work for free. You can set up a brief survey at Survey Monkey with questions such as, “Did you find where to subscribe?” or “Do you know how to contact me?” Ask what the biggest pro’s and cons of your site were, then address these concerns first.

Solution: Change Things Up

Assuming you don’t have a few hundreds for a complete revamp, there are a few things you can do. You can reorganize your menus and categories to highlight areas you want to emphasize. First, sit down with pen and paper and think about what areas you want to stress and regularly post on. Create an editorial calendar so that you can target specific items on certain days. For example, I do a weekly news wrap up on Fridays, making sure it’s visible with an eye-catching pinnable news image and tagging my niche.

You can also create some text widgets with ways to contact you and subscribe to your blog or email, or to draw attention to specific posts. Use a thumbnail of a post and

id="attachment_9643" style="width: 760px" class="wp-caption aligncenter">class="size-full wp-image-9643" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/themes.jpg" alt="wordpress themes" width="750" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/themes.jpg 700w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/themes-300x247.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" />class="wp-caption-text">A sampling of some free WordPress

As far themes, WordPress has a lot of free themes available, although you should take care with plugins and customization, and read all documentation. You can also href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/wordpress-blog/best-wp-theme-jan-2014/" target="_blank">purchase a theme for under  or href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/wordpress-blog/elegantthemes-com-review-everything-you-need-to-know-about-elegant-themes/" target="_blank">join a WordPress themes club if you really feel the need to change things and ensure that things work properly. These minor changes will allow you to take time to save up for a redesign and rebranding, if required.

Problem #2: Your Social Media Isn’t Growing

If your stats have plateaued, it may be time to jump in and get more involved with your audience. Focus on one specific outlet at a time on a weekly basis.

Solution: Host a Giveaway

While social media likes and shares are a great form of entry for contests, make sure that the giveaway matches the theme of your blog AND is of value. Don’t give away junk, but products and prizes that people can really use. For example, a blog about organic living can give away gift certificates to Whole Foods, stylish organic cotton clothing or products for an organic garden. Seek out vendors willing to work with you or attach yourself to a group in your niche that signs up bloggers for giveaways. While driving traffic this way may seem like a cheat, if you provide visible and accessible clues (via popular posts) to what your blog is about, you will find followers.

Solution: Spend More Time

Invest some time in pre-publishing and studying posts. Analyze responses to see what posts and updates are generating the most buzz or conversation, and then network to what is working. Remember that this is social media – that is, a social outlet and not primarily a marketing tool. You’re here to build relationships. For example, on Twitter you can interact with your niche by attending Twitter parties or promoting campaigns held by leaders in your niche and tweet honest and useful responses to them. This works especially well if you are in a niche with a small audience or a low attendance Twitter event.

Problem #3: Unsure If You Have Reached Your Target

Who is coming to your site and how did they find you? Google Analytics will be invaluable here to find those referral sites. What’s working and what isn’t?

Solution: Define Your Audience

id="attachment_9644" style="width: 760px" class="wp-caption aligncenter">class="size-full wp-image-9644" src="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/GoogleAnalyticsDemographics.jpg" alt="Google analytics" width="750" srcset="http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/GoogleAnalyticsDemographics.jpg 700w, http://whsr.webrevenueinc1.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/GoogleAnalyticsDemographics-300x180.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" />class="wp-caption-text">Some basic user demographics from Google Analytics.

Although you can assess your audience, if key posts in your niche are not getting traffic or shares, it’s time to define your ideal visitor. Create a user persona – that is, a real life person who would be driven to your site. Drill down everything you can about that person – from family to income to hobbies – as a way to map out where you can find them. Finding a real person that meets this criteria will help you get a feel for their needs, their pains and where they hang out online. The ultimate goal of this exercise is to discover where they hang out the most – Facebook? Blogs? Forums? Read our guide on how to href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/inbound-marketing/12-ways-to-understand-your-audience-and-deliver-stellar-content/">understand your audience.

Problem #4: Can They Find You?

“If you build it, they will come” is false, but perhaps you think people are seeing you when they are not.

Solution: Improve Your Visibility

Are you finding yourself by Googling your preferred keywords? Make sure you have public interaction properly set up for Facebook and Google+. Plan to go viral by taking on a controversial topic WHERE you see the most action and tag specific people when you post. If you, like many, are struggling with Facebook, here are tips to href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/socialmedia-marketing/how-to-improve-your-facebook-news-feed-performance/">improve your Facebook News Feed’s performance.

Solution: In-Person Networking

Sign up for groups with experts in your area – meet and greets no longer need to be in person unless you are hyperlocal, however, you’re cheating yourself if you don’t get out and involved in events that target your audience, even if you are a lifestyle rather than a niched blogger. Forget the big conferences. Instead, go for small venues, local events, and more. I find a lot of my events through my local Facebook groups and friends. It’s imperative to have a core of bloggers – at every level – to href="http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/wordpress-blog/best-wp-theme-jan-2014/" target="_blank">build a networking group  that can help you find and share opportunities, discuss trends and solve blog problems.

Solution: Befriend an Influencer

One of the fastest ways to go viral is to hook up with a blogger who is influential in your niche – but don’t stalk them. Devote yourself to sharing their posts and updates, commenting and pitching in when they need a hand. It’s key not to look at this just as a business relationship. If you are in the same niche, you have a lot in common, so work to honestly build a friendship based on those commonalities. Over time, they may even trust you enough to share opportunities with you.

Solution: Don’t Rely on SEO, But Don’t Forget it Either

As mentioned before, Google doesn’t want you doing SEO. That said, when you are writing a good post, be mindful of trending topics in your niche and address them. Google the phrase to make sure your natural keywords are being searched. That should get you Google’s attention without doing actual SEO work. I’d recommend as well using an SEO plugin such ashref="https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/" target="_blank"> Yoast, and keeping your keywords in your selected post categories and tags.

These are some quick and more involved fixes you can do to start improving your blog. My best advice? Be at it every day, as much as you can. Bring your smart phone everywhere and share your life on social media, if you are a lifestyle blogger, or relevant items that catch your eye if you’re niched.
